If it wasn’t for Gamepass, the only game I would’ve played on Xbox all year last year would have been Halo. While Psychonauts 2 was a strong title for MS, it was a cross-platform release. All five of these experiences were strong showcases for PS5. Kena, Deathloop, Ratchet and Clank, and Returnal, as well as a substantial Ghost of Tsushima expansion. Sat 15th Jan I love my PS5 and my Series console, but Sony simply had a more loaded release schedule last year.Like I said before, Microsoft hasn't had much competition against Game Pass and the only company that's able to give them a proper run for their money is Sony. I definitely think this will have an impact on Microsoft because they're in the same market. Horizon Zero Dawn, Spider-Man, Shadow of the Colossus, The Last of Us Part II and more aren't on there. Microsoft likes to add perks such as Crunchyroll and Disney+ to Game Pass, and considering Sony now owns Crunchyroll they can just bundle it in with their Game Pass service.Īlso, not all PS exclusives are available in the PS+ Collection. If they add PS1, PS2 and PS3 games as well then they can attract even more subscribers. But that's just one aspect of the service. Sat 15th Jan Well one argument is that it's much easier to sample these games if you have access to all of them through a service instead of having to buy them individually, even if they're cheap.Otherwise the consumer will just choose another service that has more exclusives, even if they aren't being released day one (i.e. It's important to release exclusives on a regular basis in order to keep people subscribed to Game Pass. Microsoft has said that they want to release at least one exclusive on Game Pass every quarter and it was looking like that was going to be the case this year, but not anymore. It's all about the timing I think, and with less exclusives coming out on Xbox the coming months, the timing is great for I agree, but it's all about keeping the momentum going. Because we all know that that Sony excels over Microsoft when it comes to high-quality first-party exclusives and if they play their cards right, they can march right into Microsoft's territory and claim a lot of ground that has taken years for Microsoft to get. But I mean, imagine if PlayStation Game Pass came out next month and Sony advertised it as a €10/month service where you can play titles such as God of War, Spider-Man, Horizon Zero Dawn, Uncharted, The Last of Us and all these great PlayStation exclusives. Sat 15th Jan Oh no, I definitely don't think Sony will add first-party games day one on its service. As usual for an Xbox Game Studios title, it'll be available with Game Pass day one, and it'll be coming exclusively to Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC. When it does eventually release, Redfall will serve as an open-world co-op shooter in which you'll need to "choose your hero from a diverse roster, grouping up with others to create the perfect team of vampire slayers" in the town of Redfall, Massachusetts. The two hosts went on discuss that a delay sounds plausible for Redfall, considering we've seen very little about the Arcane Studios developed FPS so far, despite the fact it's set to release in just a few months' time. I think this is one you'll see slip from Summer to Holiday, and based on what we've heard, that would make a lot of sense." "Redfall was the name that was floated, and this wouldn't surprise me when you really look at the lay of the land for this one. Here's a bit of what MrMattyPlays had to say about the potential of a delay: This comes courtesy of the Defining Duke podcast, where hosts MrMattyPlays and Lord Cognito both mentioned they've heard "rumblings" about a delay, although they also acknowledged it's come from a "non-typical source". Earlier this week, we saw a rumour about timed Xbox console exclusive Stalker 2 being delayed - which eventually came true - and it's now been suggested that Bethesda's Redfall could be suffering the same fate.
